The term 'Devil Dogs', also known in German as "Teufel Hunde", was a nickname given to U.S. Marines by German Soldiers describing how Marines fought during World War I.
The United States Marine Corps proudly took on this "Devil Dogs" nickname to describe themselves since that time.
